I am Nasser Razak – a dedicated father, devoted husband, and a proud advocate for the vibrant community of Keighley. As a local Councillor deeply rooted in the fabric of this town, I bring a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to serve the community by empowering them and providing opportunities, and education to those who are passionate about exploring new ideas and expanding their horizon. Together, we can foster growth, create positive change, and ensure that everyone has the chance to thrive.
With two decades of experience in National and International recruitment, I've championed employment and training initiatives, including notable contributions to government Kickstart schemes. Additionally, my role on the advisory board of an international company underscores my dedication to student welfare, education, and professional development.
Beyond my professional pursuits, I am an avid sports enthusiast, having represented various cricket clubs across Keighley East ward. My ongoing project with Riddlesden Cricket Club signifies my unwavering dedication to enhancing community engagement and fostering a spirit of camaraderie.
At the core of my ethos lies an unwavering belief in the inherent dignity of every individual and the importance of nurturing their aspirations. I am a staunch advocate for diversity and inclusivity, recognising that our differences enrich our collective tapestry and strengthen our bonds as a community.
Independent candidates have no party affiliation or pressure to make statements which have a political rhetoric or vote in favour of party politics. You can be independent and vote in your constituents favour.
People before politics.
''True democracy is having an opposition to the government for the people's voice'' - Nasser Razak
Tories, 14 years of bad politics and policies with inept leadership changed at will, failure after failure. Unelected leadership that has left the country devastated and destitute. Poor in services, high in taxes, playing the blame game and causing division to hide failure. Scapegoating.
Labour has lost all its morals as a party. It has been systematically taken apart and has failed its core support. Labour was formed as a centre-left party but now is no different to the Tories so it has lost the right to be called the true opposition.
This is why you should vote Independent to show the government that it is the people that have the power and governments are formed on the back of the public mandate.
I pledge to unite our community through inclusive initiatives such as sports events, community gatherings, and active engagement with local advocacy groups. By shining a light on issues of anti-social behavior, we can work together to create a safer, more cohesive Keighley for all.
I vow to actively monitor instances of anti-social behavior, working alongside local authorities and community members to address concerns promptly and effectively. Together, we will ensure that our neighborhoods remain safe and welcoming for all residents.
I am committed to launching an employability project with a youth focus, aimed at creating opportunities for our young people to learn, grow, and thrive. By identifying and overcoming barriers to education and employment, we will empower the next generation to reach their full potential.
I will champion initiatives that promote lifelong learning and skill development, equipping individuals of all ages with the tools they need to succeed in today's fast-paced world. Through collaboration with local colleges and employers, we will foster a culture of continuous growth and advancement.
I am committed to promoting environmental stewardship and sustainability practices within our community. Through initiatives such as tree planting, litter clean-ups, and promoting renewable energy, we can protect our natural resources for future generations to enjoy.
I pledge to celebrate the unique backgrounds and perspectives of all residents, fostering a sense of understanding and unity within our community. By embracing diversity and promoting inclusivity, we can build a stronger, more resilient Keighley where everyone feels valued and respected.
I will actively support and encourage local charities and organisations that make a meaningful impact in our community. By lending a helping hand and inspiring others to get involved, we can create a culture of generosity and compassion, ensuring that no one is left behind.
I pledge to uphold the highest standards of transparency and accountability in my role as a Councillor. I will communicate openly with constituents, listen to their concerns, and work tirelessly to address issues that matter most to our community. Together, we will build trust and ensure that every voice is heard.
I love to hear your views, and work together to build a better Keighley East.
